Altai State Medical University

The Altai State Medical University (ASMU) is a Russian public university located in Barnaul. There are more than 60 departments and seven faculties that make it work. Barnaul, the seat of Altai Krai in Russia’s southeast, is home to Altai State Medical University. For the past sixty years, the Altai State Medical University has provided qualified specialists to the local healthcare system. The institution has graduated over 25,000 doctors and pharmaceutics who operate in the Altai region, the Republics of Altai and Tuva, and nations near and far away. In the Altai area, 90 percent of doctors and pharmaceutics are AGMU graduates.

In 1954, the RSFSR Council of Ministers established it. The Altai State Medical Institute was the name of ASMU until 1994.
